-
- Description:
-
- These programs are FREEWARE as all PPE programs should be and the source code is
- included. If you modified the source code, you must do one of two things:
-
- A). Upload the modified source code to me first and then I will distribute
- the source code to Salt Air BBS and other bbses.
- B). Take any reference of my name, bbs name, and bbs number off, then recompile
- the new files that contain only your files and distribute.
-
- I've create 3 separate ppe programs using PPLC 2.00, they are still in the
- rough stages, so please be patient.
-
- The Three programs :
- --------------------
- HELLO.PPE (Source Code : HELLO.PPS) Ver 1.15
- BYE.PPE (Source Code : BYE.PPS) Ver 1.00
- LISTER.PPE (Source Code : LISTER.PPS) Ver 2.00
-
- All three programs are in the beta stage, by beta I mean I plan on updating
- and vastly improving them over the next couple of months.
-
- LISTER 2.00 (April 1, 1994)
- revised (May 7, 1994)
-
- Features
-
- BBS Lister 2.00 will allow users to add a bbs of their choosing to the bbs listings, but they
- are only allowed one entry, unless they are granted sysop status. BBS lister will allow multiple
- entries if a person has a high enough security level, you might want to modify file conf. to
- the security levels of your choosing. The first Number is Sysop status for Lister 2.00, meaning
- a person with that level will be able to add multiple bbses, modify and DELETE bbses, so becareful
- when assigning this level to a person. The second number is for the capability to put bbs listing on the
- logoff screen. I did this for a reason, you want to control the bbses that go on your logoff screen, you
- wouldn't want a joker to put a bbs that doesn't exist or does not meet you criteria for a bbs. A person
- will be able to download a text file of the bbses that are entered in and view when he/she is off-line.
- They can also do a search by AREA code and get a nice bulletin display of only those bbses in
- that AREA code. Finally the person can look at all the bbes that are entered on you bbs
- while on-line.
-
- As of May 7, 1994 the following information is entered in for a bbs:
- 1. BBS Name
- 2. BBS Telephone
- 3. BBS Sysop
- 4. BBS Software
- 5. BBS Modem (Manufacturer)
- 6. Baud Rate
- 7. If high enough security - Logoff Screen Option
-
-
-
- BBS Lister 2.00 is FREEWARE and plans on staying that way. However, if you wish
- to support newer projects or future enhancements, please feel free to drop a donation
- of any amount to the following: (Send Money Order or CHECK to:)

-
- Lister is my newest programming venture so far in the PPLC language and I
- have to admit such a simple little program can do some neat things. I have yet
- to fully developed my programming techniques in the PPLC language, but give
- me time. Lister is simply a place where users can add a bbs to the bbs list
- and they can also (IF THEIR SECURITY IS HIGH ENOUGH!) add their bbs to a
- logoff screen. This is nothing new and I've seen many bbs listers
- available, but some of them have the nerve to charge you for them.
- Not me, I know how expensive it can get!
-
- Calling Log (HELLO.PPE) and (BYE.PPE)
-
- Pepster's calling log will log every call that is logged on and it will display
- it to the next caller the people who have called for that particular day. It
- will automatically start over the next day with a clean slate, no need for a
- daily event!
-

- One Final Important Note: File "LISTING.TXT" will be located in the sub directory where
- you located the files for lister 2.00. You must make it available via the DLPATH.LST and
- meet security requirements specified in the FSEC file. Otherwise the D command will not
- work properly.
-
-
- Feel Free to Modify the display file(s) and source code to suit your own
- bbs callers.
-
- HELLO.PPE, BYE.PPE and LISTER.PPE kind of go hand in hand, I would
- suggest to you that you install all three programs, but that is up to you!
-
- If you have any ideas or suggestions to these programs or any new ideas for
- a new program using the PPL Language, please feel free to leave me a message.
- I do run a FREE BBS and it is always open, although you will have to be
- validated first.
